RETAIL & HOSPITALITY CASE STUDY
Pacific Catch – The Auckland Fish Market
The company was commissioned by a South Island fishing company to complete the design and the project management of their Auckland flagship operations. This included a large retail presence within the fish market and to have a back of house processing centre that could also supply product to four other locations within the city.
The design was not only needed to be extremely practical and functional to meet the requirements of being a food processing centre but also required the finesse and imagery of a high-end retail outlet.
On completion of the design, documentation was issued for stakeholder’s approval, compliance and tender. Construction management was then completed over a 4-month period before opening to the public.
This design build, total turnkey service allowed for a quick turnover of design, compliance, client and building owners approval as all parties were included in the decision making from the inception. Having the architect, engineers and contractors working closely together ensured there was no compromise on quality and that the overall budget was adhered to.
Design and documentation was completed in 9 months, construction time on site was 4 months and the overall budget for the design and construction was $1.4million.
